History

The history of Scotland reveals many exciting episodes. During the first and second century, The British Isles were invaded by the Romans.

After a successful campaign in England, the Italian Emperor ordered his troops north. He wanted to seize all of the newfound territory and saw no real threat in the northern citizens.

His fortune turned however as his army-commanders began to report heavy losses. This news even took a funnier turn as other reports told stories of the enemy. "We face big muscular men all dressed up in skirts and long socks."

As such reports kept coming in, the Italian Emperor, Hadrian, saw no other option but to defend himself and his troops against these wild barbarians. He therefore issued an order to have a protective wall build. Hadrian's Wall was build between 122 AD and 134 AD and runs from coast to coast from Carlisle to Newcastle (look at map below).
